This powerfully charged sequel begins where A BEAUTIFUL DARK left off, in the aftermath of Skye's discovery that Asher was using her for the Rebellion, Devin was on a mission to kill her - and that she has the ability to blur destinies. Seriously disoriented, she wakes up in the Rebel camp and immediately insists on returning home. She wants to forget about both sides of this supernatural conflict and just be a 17-year-old girl for a while.
Except things don't return to normal. Skye and Cassie are starting to drift apart. There's a new teacher at school who seriously gives Skye the creeps. Asher won't stop lurking around like a brooding bodyguard - but although Skye complains about it, she's secretly glad to have him around.
