A moving, entertaining, funny and informative memoir about Walter McVitty Books, a distinguished children's book publishing house which Walter began in 1985 and sold to Lothian when he retired in 1997. Walter was the publisher of John Marsden's first book, 'So Much To Tell You', and of all Colin Thiele's works up until 1977, among many other leading children's authors and illustrators.
'A Life In Children's Books' also recounts Walter's earlier life, from a childhood which he compares unfavourably with 'Angela's Ashes', to his distinguished career in teacher education and children's literature.
