VIDEO Conor has the same dream every night, ever since his mother first fell ill, ever since she started the treatments that don't quite seem to be working. But tonight is different. Tonight, when he wakes, there's a visitor at his window. It's ancient, elemental, a force of nature. And it wants the most dangerous thing of all from Conor. It wants the truth. Patrick Ness takes the final idea of the late, award-winning writer Siobhan Dowd and weaves an extraordinary and heartbreaking tale of mischief, healing and above all, the courage it takes to survive.
Untitled ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!! I cried so much reading this because we all need a yew tree monster in our lives. Each character in this book played a significant role and carried the story right through to the end. Not only was the story relatable, it was heartbreaking. Conor's strength is depicted throughout the whole story and honestly, I'm speechless, it was just incredible. Would recommend this book to everyone and anyone. The way the book is written is so simple yet it carries such a heavy meaning and is so beautiful. - Vyshnavi Vyshnavi , 26/08/2019
Untitled A beautiful and humble novel that is both brilliant and heart wrenching. I loved it more than I can express. - Tricia (QBD) Guest , 05/07/2019
Untitled In typical Patrick Ness fashion, this book made me incredibly emotional. This is the story about Connor - an independant young boy whose Mother is sick. He spends his nights taking care of her and his days being pushed around by the school bullies, until one night an ancient monster calls him from his front yard and demands to tell him 3 stories and receive 1 story back from Connor - the Truth. This is an extraordinary heart breaking tale about courage and facing the truth, even if you can't admit it to yourself. - Tricia (QBD) Guest , 26/04/2019
