Each year she took the same trip. Always on the same date. Always to the same place. The climb to the cave and afterwards a shower under the waterfall. Now the blowflies rise above her mutilated corpse . . .
June 1942, the Dordogne during the German Occupation of France. Jean-Louis St-Cyr of the Surete Nationale and Hermann Kohler of the Gestapo are faced with a dilemma. A film to be made about a cave whose art apparently traces Nazi roots back to Neanderthal times. Himmler is excited; Goebbels has sunk money into the venture; the Fuhrer is ecstatic. But there is a problem. Is it all fraud? And what is the connection between the cave and the dead woman - and who had she come to meet?
