When Hippo dies, her best, best friend Monkey is devastated. Hippo has explained why she has to leave Monkey but Monkey still misses her and the beautiful stories she used to tell. As Monkey sits weeping by the river, Chameleon comes along and helps to make him understand that they can best remember Hippo by continuing to tell her stories. By sharing and making new friends Monkey is able to overcome his loss.
