A collection of moody 1940s style black and white portraits of some of the hottest and most talented celebrities working in Hollywood today.

The impetus for this book began when Len Prince created a promotional display centered around the theme of "Hollywood Glamour" for Saks Fifth Avenue's store in Beverly Hills, California. This project became an ongoing work in progress, with Prince setting up camp in the legendary Chateau Marmont Hotel to photograph actors of the stage and screen as well as other modern day icons. Among the stars he has immortalized in retro glamour are Drew Barrymore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Aidan Quinn, Kelly Klein and Miss Piggy, who pose as starlets, gangsters, divas, and other figures from the past. Dominick Dunne's introduction evokes the allure of this retro glamour era, recounting his early boyhood fascination with movie stars like Paulette Goddard and Jean Harlow; his first-hand account of Hollywood parties with Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland, and Spencer Tracy; the end of the studio system and the decline of Hollywood royalty; to his photo shoot for Vanity Fair magazine in Len Prince's New York studio. Dunne's introduction, together with Prince's photographs, capture the glittering romance and elegance of an earlier era.
