Jesse asks, "Why don't I have any brothers and sisters?" His father answers that, in fact, he has thousands of brothers and sisters in Africa. Some of his brothers and sisters are from the Ibo tribe, his father says, and they grow the biggest, most delicious yams in the world. Jesse loves sweet potatoes. Others are Ashanti, who weave beautiful cloth to wear for celebrations. Just like the Ashanti, Jesse loves getting dressed up for parties and holidays. Then there are the Zulu who weave the finest baskets.
When Jesse goes to Africa, he plans to learn to weave baskets just like the Zulu do. In a game the two have enjoyed many times, his father teaches Jesse the special customs and talents of many African tribes. Jesse can't wait to go to Africa - he knows he'll fit right in!
