Andrew Lindsay was born in 1955. He pursued a career in theatre as writer, director and performer. He studied theatre with Jacques Lecoq in Paris 1979-1981, then founded Red Weather, an independent theatre company, in Sydney. Their first work was hailed as 'a perfection' by The Sydney Morning Herald. His recent published work includes Wrestling With An Octopus, a collection of stories from the Collingwood housing estates in Melbourne. Andrew was a recipient of Literature Board Writer's Project Grants in both 1993 and 1994. He has been an Artist in Residence several times, at several different universities and schools. In 1995 he won the Radio National Books and Short Story Competition and in 1996 was a joint winner at the 1996 Jim Hamilton Award.
