Mal's thrilled with the subject of the new Short Takes class: children's Literature, her favourite! But when the course begins, she couldn't be more disappointed. It's all discusison and no writing, which she hates. When she does raise her hand, the teacher, Mr Cobb, ignores her.
It doesn't seem possible, but before long, Mal is certain: Mr Cobb is favouring the boys. Mal knows that's wrong. It's not fair to her or any of the other girls. But is Mal brave enough to stand up for her rights?
