The Safety Centre of the Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne, in conjunction with Esso, ran a children's writing competition with the theme of "Safety". The winning stories were given to a professional writer to turn into picture book texts. The two other titles in this series are 'Over The Hill And 'Round The Bend With Granny And Bert And Me' and 'Waiting For Mum'.
