It's summertime - and very hot - so Bear heads out to the swimming hole in the woods to meet his friends.
Someone is making a clatter in the tree, but it isn't Mouse, or Hare, or Badger... Who could it be? The mystery animal hurries down a tunnel and stays underground, not responding to Bear's calls of "Who?"
All is revealed when a bashful owl finally appears - having recovered from his bout of shyness - and Bear declares him to be their new friend.
Now all the animals can splash around the swimming hold together.
