Canadians, like Australians, know how to laugh at themselves. Ferguson, along with his brother, has made a living from it - their last book was the very humorous 'How To Be A Canadian'. This time he has set out on a journey across Canada discovering what it is that makes Canadians unique. He also includes fascinating potted histories of the places he visits. His tone is affectionate and in this way I liken him to Bill Bryson: they manage to poke fun without being unkind (well most of the time). All in all this book is lots of fun.
