Many things come and go, but the pleasure of eating isn't one of them. All it takes is a few good ingredients and a friend to share the joy.
Belinda Jeffery's mouth-watering recipes have earned her a devoted following - not only because they're delicious, but because they work every time. In this, her second book, she offers another 100 recipes based on her favourite ingredients. From fresh herbs to cheese and chocolate, these are all the things you can't resist.
Belinda Jeffery's Tried and True Recipes
They say that if you get to use one or two recipes from a cookbook, it's a keeper. I have used heaps of recipes from this book, and Belinda's other book, 100 Best Recipes. They range from simple, eat-in-front-of-the-telly dishes, to more elaborate dishes for entertaining. They all have one thing in common, and that is they all TASTE great. I work as a chef, and have used many of the soup recipes, as well as the zucchini and cheese bake (the smell alone of this is sensational), the one pan chocolate cake, the orange yoghurt pannacotts, the honey almond slice, .....all have elicited praise from their eaters (a very diverse group). There are great vege oriented dishes, stacks of fabulous sweeties, from nibbles to more elaborate celebration cakes. The books look lovely (with gorgeous photos), are set out really well (one little touch is having the page numbers in the middle of the long open side of the page, so it's very easy to flick through and find the page you want). The recipes are easy enough for beginners to understand, but there are enough goodies in here for very experienced cooks as well. Highly recommended.
