For over 30 years Paul Harvey has caricatured hundreds of the greatest players to ever don a football boot. From Coventry and Dyer, Matthews and Ablett, Flower and Blight through to Hipwood and Tipungwuti, Harv has drawn them all in his own inimitable style. His caricatures have appeared on everything from book and magazine covers to framed milestone celebrations, emojis, toffee tins, micro-figures, t-shirts and stubby holders. This book is not only a celebration of our great game through the eyes of one of the country's pre-eminent exponents of the art, but it continues a long tradition of art and football and the role of the caricaturist in furthering the rich history of the National Game.
A wide selection of Harv's artwork is collected in the book including for Select Footy Cards (Harv has been caricaturing players for the Select Football Football Cards for over 8 years and has illustrated over 500 players for these cards alone); Inside Football magazine is a footballing
institution and Harv has illustrated many covers, most often for the biggest game of the year - The Grand Final; Retirement caricatures: As the playing days of some of our greats wind up Harv is often called upon to immortalise the champion in frame; Sketches: For the first time you are able to see Harv's pencil sketches. Harv talks through the process of his art from concept to finished piece; Brownlow Medal certificates: Since 2002 Paul Harvey has continued the tradition of illustrating the Brownlow Medal illuminated address. It is a tradition that dates back to the very first Brownlow medal won by Carji Greeves in 1923. Plus much more.
