This captivating picture book about a bird that can't fly is a haunting story of courage, and reveals the joy and wonder that come from taking a chance. Beautifully illustrated and written in lyrical, rhythmical verse.
"I once met a bird who stared out to sea, as strange and as still as a bird can be. I sat down beside him and asked him why. Shortly he answered, 'Because I can't fly. My feet are too big, my feathers are wrong, my wings are short, my beak is too long. I don't know what I'm meant to do. I'm afraid of the sky so I wait for a clue."
