The Endless Column Complex was commissioned by the Women's League of Gorj to honour the soldiers who had defended Targu-Jiu against a German force in 1916. This book presents the history of this work of art, by Romanian sculptor Constantin Brancusi, which has been hailed as one of the greatest works of 20th century open-air art.
