Best friends, Shaun and Henley, head north for a holiday with Shaun's mother and gormless stepfather, Herbert, travelling in a Winnebago.
The journey itself provides much amusement for the family, especially since Herbert is not the most competent handyman and wrestles with the challenges of their rented motor home.
Henley, a keen bird watcher, particularly enjoys their travels, and while pursuing his hobby, witnesses something odd. This mysterious situation quickly takes on a serious twist when the two friends stumble on to what turns out to be a bird-smuggling racket.
