Laura Murdock, a social worker at a women's crisis center in Detroit, is young, confident, and successful-she has everything...almost. Being a foster child Laura has proved incapable of holding onto love.
But when a trip to the Virgin Islands puts her in the company of Wilham Kramer, she might just have found her perfect man. As they both come from humble beginnings their mutual passion comes naturally.
So naturally that Wilham proposes to Laura shortly after meeting her. But Laura's fears of love take hold. Rejecting his offer she returns to Detroit, doubting her decision.
Unable to live without him, Laura jets off in search of Wilham. She finds him, confesses her love, and he forgives her.
