Catriona has always known she doesn't fit in. She has never had many friends, and she has strange dreams, visions which she has always had to hide from those around her. Then, when Catriona finds that she is in fact, adopted, she begins to untangle an intricate web of families and legends, which ultimately leads her to the Shetland Islands of Scotland to find her roots. Little does she know, that the answers to, and the cause of, all her dreams and visions lies buried somewhere in the ancient past of that turbulent country.
