The Soviet colossus has been ripped apart into a dozen quarrelling republics, while America becomes obsessed with its own internal problems. In place of the two former power blocs there is now a rash of smaller coalitions forever splitting and combining. And, as racial hatreds boil to the surface, there are nations eager to satisfy age-old imperial ambitions - using military force if necessary.
While a fresh wave of atrocity and massacre ripples across the Balkans, France and Germany seize their chance - to establish themselves as a joint superpower dominating the whole of Europe. But three small nations defy this tyranny . . . Finally America and Britain are forced to intervene . . .
