Charlie’s Tales Peggy and the Fantastic Football aims to teach girls about how amazing their bodies are and what they can achieve. This focus on functionality is a key element of developing a positive body image. Additionally the book and resources aim to encourage girls to get involved in sports, to have fun and to play
with confidence.
With 38% of 4 year old girls dissatisfied with their bodies in Australia, the Charlie’s Tales series aims to build body confidence through each of Charlie’s adventures. Whilst our foundation focuses on girls, the books have been designed for all children under 7 years old.
Pretty Foundation have also developed free downloadable parent and educator kits (including discussion questions and children’s activity sheets) for each of the Charlie’s Tales books, to further explore these key themes. These can be found at prettyfoundation.org.
