Almost 60 Catholic and Protestant children, young adults and adults record in tragic, moving, sometimes funny and sometimes bitter true stories and poems what growing up as children in the war zone of Northern Ireland has meant to them.
From the bomb-devastated ruins of Belfast to the terrorist-ridden countryside, there is no escape from the terror and war that has been going on for 25 years - this time, and for centuries beyond that. Throughout, though, there are children who express hope and work for peace, even in the midst of war and death. With remarkable honesty and often lyrical expression, these Irish children and adults share with us a world that few of us know well, or at all.
