In 1887, Quartermaster General C. McKeever published a compilation of Union battle flags under the title Flags of the Army of the United States Carried During the War of the Rebellion 1861-1865. He also released an order of battle as Tabular Statements Showing the Names of Commanders of Army Corps, Divisions and Brigades, United States Army, During the War of 1861-1865, which charted the hierarchy of command for all the corps. This glorious reproduction compiles both guides into one volume.
