Fifteen-year-old Kate is the envy of her friends. A television crew is shooting a popular series on her island home and Kate spends her days on set. While she takes her friendship with Robbie, the water-taxi man for granted, she is completely infatuated with actor Nathan Yeo and witnesses tension in off-screen moments between Nathan and leading lady Chantelle Peters.
After days of watching and listening to the discussions and arguments on set, Kate learns that the future of the television series is in jeopardy and, even worse, that network owner Jeffrey Oliver has plans for a multi-million dollar redevelopment of the island.
When Chantelle Peters' body is found washed up on the island, Kate gradually realises that something more sinister has occurred. With Robbie's help she uncovers the truth of what happened.
