Meanwhile, Croydon Airport exemplified Britain's early advances in aviation. Growing up in the neighbourhood, the author is uniquely placed to take a trip down memory lane. In both black and white and in colour, his personal reminiscences highlight key milestones in the ever-changing transport scene, providing a nostalgic glimpse of a bygone era and juxtaposing it with today's contemporary offerings.
