The team of inspectors, working out of County Hall in Fettlesham, remains the same although news of an early retirement makes Gervase Phinn, Inspector for English and Drama, seriously consider applying for the senior post. However, his fiancée, Christine Bentley of Winnery Nook School, is less keen: "I want to see my husband other than at weekends," she says.
