The force of Dennis Nona's extraordinary art is its capacity to breathe life into the re-telling of legendary Torres Strait Islander stories.
A renowned printmaker and sculptor from the tiny island of Badu in the Western Torres Strait, Dennis was recently awarded Australia's biggest prize for indigenous artists, the Telstra National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Award, as well as being named one of Australia's most collectable artists for 2007. He is regarded as a great innovator in contemporary Australian art.
Dennis Nona: Time after Time traces his artistic beginnings, processes and achievements and looks at how his work is inextricably linked to Torres Strait Islanders conceptions of time, place and memory.
