Did I Mention I Miss You? takes place the following summer, and a year has passed without Eden and Tyler talking to each other.
Eden has moved to Chicago to study psychology at university and has found a new love interes there while she remains furious at Tyler for leaving her. When school breaks up for the summer, she heads back to Santa Monica, but she's not the only one with that idea. Tyler also decides to show up in the city after his abrupt departure a year ago and we discover that he has been living in Portland the entire time, setting up a youth group to support teenagers and helping prevent them going off the rails like he did. His sudden appearance only angers Eden even more...
