Georgia O'Keeffe chose New Mexico as the vibrant backdrop for the second half of her boundlessly creative life. She purchased homes in Ghost Ranch and Abiquiú, handcrafting and refinishing them with special emphasis on the kitchen and garden spaces that would prove to be fundamental to her artistic process. She reveled in being able to forage and gather the natural bounty of her environment. For Georgia, food was elevated to an art form, not only in her works but in its preparation and consumption, in its purposes of carrying on beloved heritage and guarding against sickness. AUTHOR: Australian-born Robyn Lea moved to Milan, Italy, in her late teenage years to work as a photographer's assistant.
