The light doesn't often penetrate into the darkest depths of the ocean. Kinda like that old shell game that slides and switches the hidden ball beneath. You thought you knew exactly where it was. Trust me.....you won't. Being a documentary film-maker can have its occasional perks if the right story comes along. Just ask Sidney Ryan and her crew. It's feast or famine and very little in between. It's also a cut-throat business that depends on ratings. You gotta stay ahead of the bigger fish or you'll get swallowed up in a heartbeat. But this time Sidney has come across a ten year old case set on the sandy beaches of the tropical St. Lucia in the Eastern Caribbean. Murder somehow doesn't seem to fit in a high class resort setting. But Julian Crist was dead before he could even say, "Pass the sunscreen." His girlfriend, Grace Sebold, has been prosecuted and convicted of his murder and has been sitting in a prison cell on the island ever since. The St. Lucian jury thought it was a slam dunk. Case closed....until Sidney comes along. Donlea is a master when it comes to sowing doubt. He made me doubt my suspicions, regardless of what Sidney herself believed. This book asks all the questions that so often plague people when faced with these extraordinary cases. What if she didn’t do it? What is she did? What was her motive? Could someone else have done it? - Louise (QBD)

With a documentary digging into a decade old case, and the sway of social media, this is a modern take on a typical whodunnit. It forces readers to question who they really trust. Who do you believe? - Rosie (QBD)

Grace Sebold is arrested for the murder of her boyfriend while on holiday in the Carribean. She spends ten years in jail there. After exhausting all possibilities for appeal, she reaches out to an old friend Sidney, who makes documentaries. Her shows have led to exoneration of two previous people who had been wrongly incarcerated. Grace has always proclaimed her innocence, that she loved her boyfriend and could never kill him. While we follow the investigation that Sidney makes, we are led to believe that Grace has been sent to jail because it was convenient. All evidence to convict her was found and anything that didn't match was ignored. From the large list of players any one of them could have killed Julian, yet only Grace was arrested. Was it a travesty of justice, or is she a cold-blooded killer? Sidney is showing her viewers each week what she has discovered as she finds it. She doesn't know what will be found and whether Grace really is innocent or not. Each show has more people watching who have an opinion on the guilt or innocence of Grace Sebold. With mounting evidence showing that Grace had been "framed" she is released from jail. However, in the following week more evidence comes to light that does question that decision. You are kept guessing right to the end. Is Grace innocent or guilty? Read and find out... - Kerryn (QBD)

WOW! I could not put 'Don't Believe It' down - you MUST read it. The novel is centered on filmmaker Sidney Ryan, who is hurtled into the spotlight when her true crime serial on Grace Sebold goes to air. Meanwhile, Grace has spent the last ten years in prison for manslaughter, and reaches out to Sidney in a desperate attempt to clear her own name... before it's too late. As the worlds of these two women collide, friendships are tested, careers are sacrified and the idea of good vs evil is questioned. I loved the way the author kept the reader contstantly guessing if Grace was innocent or guilty, if Sidney's motives for making the serial were pure or not, but most of all, I ADORED the twist at the end. Trust me - read this, and you will NOT regret it! - Emily (QBD)
