The wish of the furniture and industrial designer Terje Ekstrøm (1944–2013) was to revolutionise how we sit. He achieved a creative union of form and function to such an extent that his internationally acclaimed Ekstrem chair, which was designed as early as 1972, was used in the mid-1990s as a prop in the science fiction series 'Star Trek: Voyager'.
The story of the pioneering Norwegian designer, whose works have contributed to a new vitality and the autonomy of the Norwegian design scene of the 1970s and 1980s, is now told for the first time.
