By far the best young adult book out there on the shelves is the beautifully crafted elementals series by Brigid Kemmerer. Sucked into the normal life of Becca Chandler you see when her future is suddenly altered. You experience alongside her, her confusion and frustration as to what is going on. It is a simple act of fending off bullies and defending your fellow classmates that unwittingly draws Becca into the light of revelations. With the Merrick brothers only confusing and scarring her and a surprise visit from her father, Becca has to be careful in whom she places her trust in. Otherwise she may just get hurt.
