Book two of Exiles series
The second volume in her enthralling fantasy epic about three magically gifted sisters caught up in desperate conflict....
Lenfell was once almost destroyed by a war between two opposing philosophies of magic - a war that devastated the planet's land, air, water and genetic heritage. The Malerrisi tradition of magic is now led by the eldest sister, Glenin, in her isolated island castle. The middle sisiter, Sarra, is a member of the governing Council, and therefore vehemently opposed to using magic for political ends.
Meanwhile the youngest sister, Cailet, is slowly rebuilding the Mage Guardians to pursue their former role as healers, teachers and defenders. But magic is distrusted by ordinary folk, so Cailet must walk a fine line as she re-establishes the Guardians' reputation for benign use of their powers.
Although Glenin is still hiding, she makes her presence felt is constant, deadly ways. Thus lying in wait for Cailet are assassination plots against herself and her kin, the ever-present threat of spies, and a vengeful spirit hungering for the release of the dreaded Wraithenbeats to ravage all Lenfell.
Yet these are mere diversions to Glenin, for she has a more sinister plan in mind.
And the arrival of four young and talented students at Mage Hall could open the way to ultimate disaster.
