Austin O'Connell has done something bad. We don't know what it is, but it's serious enough for him to face trial. He's acquitted, but remains on shaky ground with the law. And he just can't seem to stay out of trouble.
He's sent to a dairy farm where the police department encourages troubled teenagers to think about rehabilitation. It is run by Mr Bolt, an uninspiring, Nazi-like character who is incapable of restoring any hope in Austin or the other teenagers at the farm.
As the teenagers learn how the farm runs, there are personality clashes. In fact, Austin headbutts a guy at his first meeting with the other kids. But he is not really interested in anyone but Macquarie Andrews, the most beautiful girl he has ever seen.
