On 4 August 1944, after two years in hiding, Anne Frank and her family were arrested by the Nazis. During the Second World War the Nazis had arrested and killed millions of Jewish people. Anne and her family knew that they were in terrible danger.

It reveals a fourteen-year old girl who used her diary to express love, pain, fear and hope - especially the hope that she'd become a writer one day. Tragically, like so many others, Anne died in a concentration camp. After the war her diary was discovered an published and has since become a best-seller which is read by people throughout the world - just as Anne would have wished.
