Nine months. Two weeks. Six days.
That's how long recovering addict Sophie's been drug-free. Four months ago her best friend Mina died in what everyone believes was a drug deal gone wrong - a deal they think Sophie set up. Only Sophie knows the truth. She and Mina shared a secret, but there was no drug deal. Mina was deliberately murdered.
Forced into rehab for a drug addiction she'd already beaten, Sophie's finally out and on the trail of the killer. But can she track them down before they come for her?

Seventeen year old Sophie's life changed the day her best friend Mina was murdered in front of her, and now after getting out of rehab for a drug addiction, shes determined to hunt the killer down. Far From You is a murder mystery, but an unusual one. For starters, the main character is shown to be disabled from a car accident earlier in her life, which also left her with an addiction to pain killer medication. Sharpe also does an excellent job of exploring both Mina and Sophie as people outside of their superficial characteristics. The mystery is also unusual unlike many mystery stories there are no red herrings and no abundance of suspects the only facts the viewer is given is the ones Sophie discovers through the course of her investigation. Far From You is a heartfelt look at life, friendship, sexuality, disability and addiction without feeling too heavy handed, and is certainly a book that stays with you far after the final page is turned.
