Lester Ellis was a true-working class hero -- a bored, angry kid from Melbourne's western suburbs who punched his way to a world boxing title. The impulsiveness and rage that fuelled his relentless pursuit of success in the only profession that offered him an opportunity almost consumed him once his career was over. Lester descended into alcoholism and lost his wife and three kids.
This is Lester's story raw, insightful and, at times, uproariously funny. Even though the bad times have floored him like a wallop from Mohammed Ali, Lester is back, fighting the battle of his life.
