Fiona is a third generation speedway driver, racing cars from the age of 16 right up until she was pregnant with her first child. After doing odd jobs, rouseabouting, tractor driving and working on the CBH bins, she went to Alexander College for a secretarial course. It was while running the local shop in Pingaring in 2006 that she began writing. This began Fiona's writing career, as 'The Family Farm' was published in 2010, and 'Heart of Gold', 'The Road Home' and her most revent novel, 'The Sunburnt Country', have followed.
