Months have passed since Rafel crossed the mountains to save Lur. Olken and Doranen alike have given him up for dead. But Deenie dreams of her brother, and knows he's alive - but in desperate trouble. The kingdom of Lur is also in trouble, and only Rafel can save it. Deenie and her friend Charis find a way to leave in search of him, only to find that the lands beyond Barl's Mountains are caught in the grip of a terrible evil. Morg is alive, and rebuilding his strength.
