The small town of Iznik in Anatolia (Turkey) was home to an extraordinary blossoming of ceramic craftsmanship between the late 15th and 17th centuries. The ware is characterized by a limited palette of cobalt blue, green, vivid turquoise and distinctive brick red. The collection of Iznik tiles in the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge is one of the finest in the World, and this calendar gathers 12 of the most beautiful examples. Informative text accompanies each work and the datepad features previous and next month's views.
