More than anything else, the word "Andalucja" conjures up images of colourful flamenco and ghosts of the region's Moorish past. Given this, it is hard to come to terms with the fact that many visitors to this extraordinarily diverse region of Spain never penetrate through the coastal strip of resorts, golf courses and marinas to catch a glimpse of the underlying spirit of the place.
