On the holy island of Philae, off the southern coast of Egypt, the last community which remains faithful to the old ways struggles against the invader. It's the 6th century AD and Christianity has been imposed throughout the land. Only the ancient temple of Philae continues in active worship.
The young and beautiful High Priestess, Isis, strives to restore confidence in her people and inspires them to resist the all-powerful bishop Theodore. But, from north to south, dangers are rising up to threaten the temple's existence.
