Arguably unfairly overshadowed by the famous Ned Kelly, Frank Gardiner was a master bushranger and a national celebrity in his own time. In 1862 he and his gang committed the biggest robbery of colonial times, relieving the Forbes-Sydney gold escort of around $4 million in current value.
