A little girl loses the grandmother she so loves and wonders: who will make her house happy again? Then that night, as she lies in bed, she sees her grandmother's shoes tucked under a chair . . .
When she slips her feet into their familiar shape, the little girl is magically transported on a fantastic journey filled with images reminiscent of her grandma: a brush of butterfly wings so like her old hands, the smell of her garden, a special patch of midnight sky. Each night the girl searches for her beloved grandma in these images. Through her magical journeys the little girl is able to hold on to her precious memories and the wonderful stories her grandmother has told her. This sustains the child as she and her family begin the slow process of adjusting to their loss.
