Winterson pulls the reader along for the ride, charging headlong through entwining, compulsive, mythical entanglements of intense desire, lust and love. The story of three characters caught in a love triangle, it is told from the alternating perspectives of each. The pace never lets up as elements of theoretical physics and mystical symbolism are drawn into the spiraling chaos, enriching the experience as the story cascades towards its unexpected conclusion. Winterson is a masterful author and if you have enjoyed her other writing you will doubtless be impressed with this offering, possibly her best work to date.
