There once was a girl as big as your thumb and as kind as a sunny spring morning. It's not easy to be warm-hearted and bold at the same time, especially when you're no bigger than half a glass of milk. But the girl I'm telling you about was all these things, and ready for adventures, besides.
Thumbelina is a little girl, no bigger than your thumb. While she loved her home with Rosalee, she often pined to play outside. Then one day, she is captured by an old Mamma Toad and kept as a bride for her son, Horace, and lost in the world outside. And so begins Thumbelina's adventures and her journey to find out where she really belongs.
The popular Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale (also known as Tommelise and Inchelina) has been vibrantly retold and sumptuously illustrated by two of Australia's finest artists.
