'Hot Hits: The Remix', the sequel to 'Hot Hits', follows five of the minor characters from the earlier book who aren't sure where they belong and are plagued with sexual confusion. They each have to deal with their particular situations in an environment that is highly sensitive to sexual difference, where the most common put downs are about being a poof or a lezzo.
The novel projects a slim hope that somewhere over the rainbow, young same-sex-attracted people will not be the most oppressed in school. They are at risk of persecution and misery, simply because of whom they choose to love.
