Nicole Maris cares deeply about the world, but she know that going to the prom with an acceptable male has got to come first. So when Brad Selden asks someone else, Nicole resorts to desperate measures. She runs to her next-door neighbor, grunge king Chase Hammond, and decides to make him over into a dream date. Along the way, Chase gets his first taste of the P-word (popularity) and finds out that things are different on the other side.
