The book and cassettes are practical and straightforward with the tapes clearly illustrating the spoken language; used together they will help you make steady and rapid progress in an enjoyable way. In the book essential grammar is simply explained with short exercises and conversational drills putting it into context. On the cassettes there's an extended pronunciation guide and you'll hear many of the model sentences and word lists, the dialogues and other selected passages from the text. These tapes carry no extra tuition material but some exercises have been specially adapted for oral work. If you spend just one hour a day on the course you'll be speaking Japanese really well very soon!
