On his way home for lunch one day, Little Bear finds a little lost girl, Emily, in the forest. But Little Bear is able to take Emily home and so he makes a new friend. He and Emily visit the ducklings, go to a party at Owl's house and, when it is time for Emily to go back to school, Little Bear writes her a letter with his new pen.
